At 27, Solo is one of the youngest people to make the cut.

Ayo. It’s probably nothing, but…

U.S. entertainment giant, Variety, has named Calaxy Co-Founder & CEO Solo Ceesay, as one of Hollywood’s New Leaders for 2022. The award recognizes leaders in the film, television, and digital industries who embrace innovation and push the envelope in fostering greater entertainment for society.

At just 27, Solo is one of the youngest people to be featured on the list over the past handful of years.

Having already graduated from the prestigious Wharton School, worked as a financier on Wall Street, co-founded a tech startup during a global pandemic, embraced the complex architecture of distributed ledger technologies, spearheaded two successful rounds of fundraising totaling $33.5M, ascended to CEO of the startup he co-founded *and* cemented himself as a thought leader in one of the most cohesive communities in one of the most progressive industries on the planet, we guess he can add this to the laundry list of impressive accomplishments and accolades he’s accumulated before turning 28 (…later this month, but don’t tell him we told you 😉).

“It’s an absolute honor to be named to [Variety’s list of Hollywood’s New Leaders of 2022]. It’s humbling to be included among such a stellar group of nominees. The supporting cast here at Calaxy and in the Hedera ecosystem has been nothing short of vital in all of this success. My single focus is working to deliver a best-in-class product that revolutionizes the Creator Economy, and it’s very validating to have an industry stalwart like Variety take notice.” — Calaxy CEO Solo Ceesay

In 2020, Solo and business partner Spencer Dinwiddie set out on a new mission together: to disrupt the stagnant Web2 social media framework and redirect value back into the hands of the Creators. Recognition from an entertainment entity as established as Variety signifies that the industry understands that vision. That they’re using their platform to promote diverse voices like Solo’s and progressive idea’s like Calaxy’s is a huge step toward a new, better Creator Economy.
